Let your tastebuds rejoice and join Running Hare Vineyard and Calvert Crabs & Seafood for a 5 course wine and food pairing experience! You will be guided through each course and wine pairing as you enjoy the scenery of the vineyard. This is an exclusive event you won't want to miss!
Course 1: Cobb Little Gem Wedge Salad with Affinée Bleu Cheese, Local Heirloom Grape Tomato, Avocado, and Bacon with Balsamic Vinaigrette
Wine Pairing : Full Bloom - A fruit-forward expression of traditional French rosé, this wine has a nose of spring florals and honey and bursts with strawberry and white cherry flavors. Its well-balanced profile makes it a delightful choice for any season.
Course 2: Gougères (Gruyere Cream Puffs) Two Ways -
1) Smoked Pork Belly, Crème Fraiche and Fire Roasted Tomato
2) Smoked Salmon Crème Fraiche and Capers
Wine Pairing: Blanco - Opens with a fragrant honeysuckle nose, transitioning to a refreshing tartness of cantaloupe and peach, and ultimately leaving a smooth, elegant impression on the palate.
Course 3: Sautéed Honey Chardonnay Salmon with Grilled Fresh Vegetable Medley
Wine Pairing: Vanishing Act - Characterized by a prominent citrus profile and invigorating grapefruit aromas, this light-bodied, dry white blend transitions seamlessly into a smooth finish. Its balanced acidity and bright character make it a delightful pairing for a sunny afternoon.
Course 4: Malbec Braised Beef Short Rib with Garlic Smashed Red Potato
Wine Pairing: Malbec - On the palate, dark cherry and red raspberry are framed by a medium tannic structure. Oak aging adds intriguing nuances of milk chocolate, cocoa powder, and leather, creating a complex and satisfying finish.
Course 5: Marsala Crème Brûlée w/Fresh Berries and Whipped Cream
