Dr Laura Sangha, Associate Professor of Early Modern History, University of Exeter, will speak on 'Wills as Windows on Tudor, Stuart and Georgian Lives'.
Laura's talk relates 'to my current research project on English wills from the 16th to 18th centuries instead. I've had a quick look and there are lots of Heavitree wills in the collection we are working with so I'd be able to say a bit about those as part of the talk. You can read more about the project here https://sites.exeter.ac.uk/materialcultureofwills/ . As you can see our focus is on 'material culture', i.e. the objects that people bequeath, so it makes for a good talk as there are lots of relevant images that I can show'.
The event is free for Society members, and costs just Β£3 per visitor payable on the night. No need to book in advance.
