About this Event
This Easter, come to Lorton Meadows Conservation Centre for a fun, hands-on activity! Learn how to weave willow into your very own bird feeder using natural materials. Perfect for fat balls you can then take it home to feed your garden birds this spring. There is a short guided walk around part of the reserve after the willow weaving event, bring binoculars if you have them.
Get crafty, learn a new skill and give our feathered friends a tasty treat! 🐦💚
This event is suitable for adults or families with children from 8 to 15 yrs old. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult as they may need help. Please book a ticket for all members of your party.
Dress in old clothes you don’t mind getting mucky, and please dress for the weather. Wellies advisable.

Access to Lorton Meadow events is via Lorton Lane, approximately half a mile to the Conservation Centre and carpark. Please be aware of pedestrians and cyclists and keep to the 10 mph speed limit. Thank You
Free parking is available on site.

If coming by public transport the number 10 bus runs regularly between Weymouth and Dorchester with the nearest bus stop at Nottington Lane. If travelling from Dorchester nearest stop is Broadwey Methodist Church. It is then approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the centre via Dorchester Rd then Lorton Lane.
If coming by train the nearest station is at Upwey followed by approximately 20 minute walk via Dorchester Rd then Lorton Lane.

DWT reserves the right to reschedule events in the event of unfavourable conditions and offer alternative dates or issue a full refund.
Cancelling your booking
Cancellations are accepted at the discretion of Dorset Wildlife Trust and a reasonable cancellation cause should be provided by the participant.
You may request a cancellation up to 3 days before the date of the course or workshop. You may be charged an administration fee.
