William The Conqueror's live performances have drawn wildly enthusiastic comparisons to Kings of Leon, Nirvana, Buffalo Tom and The Marshall Tucker Band.
Latest album 'Maverick Thinker' (Chrysalis Records) has been described as "a record of cuts and bruises, wrapped within bittersweet leftfield rock n roll tunes-short, sharp shots to the arm; fuzzy college rock with chops, one foot lingering menacingly over the distortion pedal"
"Recorded in LA at the infamous Sound City Studios, the trio rattled through the album’s ten tunes at a breakneck speed-the energy and chaos nods to some of the US lo-fi greats and yet arrives at something innately British.
"Instant classic" - UNCUT
"Razor sharp, dripping with the blues" -
AMERICAN SONGWRITER
"Whip-smart indie rock" - CLASH
Manchester based singer songwriter Izzie Walsh has a unique sound that blends country, bluegrass, folk and Americana. Described as “So original and individual” by Bob Harris, Izzie Walsh has built an impressive organic fanbase over the last couple of years. Not only does she have two BCMA Awards and an Indie Week UK award under her belt, but Izzie is also a former BBC Introducing Artist of the Week.
Born in the North-West of the UK, Hannah Ashcroft is a guitarist, singer and songwriter whose material and live shows have made her an indelible part of the Manchester indie music scene today.
Her prowess on the guitar is equally impressive on the acoustic as the on the electric guitar, and they combine with her beautifully haunting vocals which are at once soft and powerful – creating a sound which effortlessly bridges indie, folk, singer-songwriter and rock.
She has gained initial acclaim from the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music’s Tom Robinson & Mary Anne Hobbs as well as tastemaker music sites such as Clash, Lock Magazine and Amazing Radio. Hannah has also collaborated with Mercury Prize-nominated artist Beth Orton as part of Brighter Sound’s gender equality initiative Both Sides Now.
