About this Event
Our planning system has reached crisis point. Great Britain has an unfortunate track record of building cheap, high-density housing, none of which is designed to last. The Labour Party has made some positive noises about prioritising brownfield and greybelt land for development – but local councils are still at the mercy of rampant NIMBYism.
A strong economy relies on its infrastructure – housebuilding is the backbone of such an economy. In order to ‘rebuild’ Britain, the government must hear the voices of housebuilders and heritage developers. Only by doing this, will we unlock the delivery of high quality, energy-efficient homes.
Join a panel of experts to discuss how Labour can get Britain building, and support the built environment and construction sector to build well designed homes for the here and now.
Expert Panel:
- Liz Hamson, Editor of BE News (Chair)
- Simon Vernon-Harcort, Director of Planning at City & Country
- Kate Faulkner, Chair of the Home Buying and Selling Council
- Josh Dean MP, Member of Parliament for Hertford and Stortford
