As the Texas heat softens and golden hour slips into blue hour, the Greenbelt changes personalities entirely. The river grows quieter, the air cools, and the wildlife begins its evening shift.
Fireflies flicker through the trees like floating lanterns. Hundreds of martins swirl around the historic iron bridge at 428 in choreographed waves while bats emerge into the evening sky. Along the riverbanks, frogs, owls, and hidden wildlife begin their nighttime soundtrack as you paddle south into one of North Texas’ most scenic river corridors.
This is less about speed and more about atmosphere. A slow drift through the Greenbelt at twilight where every bend feels cinematic and the river comes alive after dark. ✨🛶

🌿 What You’ll See
Twilight changes everything on this stretch of river.
Martins gather by the hundreds around the iron bridge before sunset. Fireflies begin glowing beneath the canopy while bats dart overhead hunting insects in the fading light.
You may hear beavers moving through the brush, owls waking in the distance, and the steady chorus of frogs rising from the banks as darkness settles over the Greenbelt.
The current remains gentle, the obstacles manageable, and the atmosphere unforgettable.
🌤 Weather & Prep
Evening paddles are typically cooler and more comfortable, but humidity can linger near the water.
Bring:
• Water
• Bug spray recommended
• Small dry bag for essentials
• Glow lights or headlamp encouraged
• Light snack if desired
🔥 For Our Social Paddlers
Twilight paddles have a different energy entirely.
Conversations get quieter. The water slows down. People drift together naturally beneath the fading sky while the river soundtrack takes over.
It’s equal parts adventure, nature therapy, and late-summer magic. 😉
📅 Reserve Early
Twilight slots are limited due to launch timing and daylight windows.
Alcoholic Beverage should be in opaque containers.
