Wildlife Photography is a collection of images captured across Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Nebraska that highlights the beauty and behavior of wildlife throughout the American West. Through patience and observation, John Ritchey documents animal behavior in natural environments, capturing moments that reveal how animals communicate, hunt, protect their young, and respond to their surroundings. Long hours in remote areas require both awareness and respect for wildlife, while also providing opportunities to study movement, interaction, and instinct.
John Ritchey is a professional wildlife photographer residing in Lincoln. He began pursuing photography as a full-time passion following his retirement in 2009 after serving 24 years as an Integrated Avionics Systems Mechanic for the Nebraska Air National Guard. From 2007–2008, he also served as a house photographer for the Qwest Center.
