Join ecologist Matt Collis to discover the secrets of wildflowers this summer
About this Event

Deepen your love of wildflowers and make your future walks more exciting, with this one-day workshop at our Grow Wilder site. Here, at our inspiring six-acre wildlife gardening site, we will teach you about many flowering species, particularly those found in woodlands and roadsides, whose presence is synonymous with summer.

It’s no secret that trying to identify plants can leave the best of us feeling frustrated and perplexed at times, so during your course we will focus on the quickest and simplest identification techniques you can use anywhere. Throughout the day, there will also be plenty of time to appreciate the beauty of wildflowers and discuss their value and importance in relation to local wildlife. By the end of this course, you should feel confident in putting a name to any wildflower’s petalled face!

Learning outcomes:

• Discover more about the life and ecological value of summer wildflowers

• Learn how to identify most common UK wildflowers in summer

• Develop & practice your identification skills through interactive exercises under expert supervision
