About this Event
We're offering a day-long wilderness survival course as a fundraiser for our site and camp programs! Tickets are available for the whole day, or for the morning and afternoon sessions individually. Each session can hold 20 adults, who can bring their children with an extra children's ticket. The available tickets listed is a higher number because we are offering both separate workshop tickets and combined and we are making both available.)
The morning workshop, taught by Stevan Michaels, a wilderness survival instructor, will cover how to construct a shelter, how to build a fire, and how to make a natural water filter.
The afternoon workshop, taught by Stevan Michaels and Alexandria Searls (nature photographer with animal tracking training and wilderness first aid, LCEC staff member), will feature nature observation, how to remain calm in the woods, and how to handle challenges such as insects, wounds, floods, and weather. How to stay still and wait for help, and how to navigate in your environment will both be discussed.
Bring your child six and over with you for an additional $25 cost, whether it's for the morning or afternoon session, or both sessions.
If you can't attend the workshop, but would like to donate to the Exploratory Center, please consider purchasing a Donation Ticket at whatever level you would like. We thank you for supporting our site and programs!
