Wilderness Skills Course - Spring 2023

Imagine unzipping your tent on a cool morning to watch the sun rise. As the wilderness landscape transitions from night to day, you breath in the clean air and prepare for a immersive training day unlike any cadet has ever received.

During this hands-on training you will be receiving classes on shelter-building, fire-starting, foraging, wilderness first-aid, knots, rescue, water purification, and other topics from a variety of knowledgeable instructors. In-turn, you'll be ready to apply these critical skills whenever the situation arises.

You'll be learning to cook your meals on camp-stoves and camp-fires while bonding with select cadets from around the state. Cadets will sleep in one-person tents, and all items will be provided for the training (tools, sleeping bag, backpack, etc.). This course will be conducted in a remote, relaxed setting with a few hikes mixed-in to locate different resources.
