Hey, Sacramento. We're back. πŸŽ™οΈ
WILDCARD! is happening Wednesday, August 19th, and we really, truly want you there.
Here's how it works: eight names get pulled from the NOT HAT. Eight storytellers get up and tell their truth with craft and intention. At the end of the night, the storytellers themselves vote for their favorite story. The winner takes home $50 and a featured spot at the next show.
Part open mic. Part StorySLAM. Part something Sacramento has never quite seen before.
True stories, told live, by you. With stakes.
🌟 Featured Storyteller: Victoria Goldblatt
Victoria has been performing for over 20 years as an actor, playwright, and writer with credits in film, commercials, community theater, voice-overs, and original stage work, including two awards for her play "I Doubt It." She's also the former Casting Director for Stories on Stage Sacramento and a Neuroscience, Health, and Fitness Consultant, which is possibly the most interesting combination of credentials we've ever put on a WILDCARD ticket page.
Her story is about the day everything changed; a collision of the spiritual and the deeply personal. She's asked us not to spoil it. So we won't. What we will say is: you're going to want to be in the room for this one.
🎀 The NOT HAT
Eight spots. Eight minutes each. True stories. Come early to sign up, spots fill fast.
Some people tell their first story at WILDCARD. Others come back month after month to stretch their craft, compete for the prize, or just be part of a room where humans actually listen to each other. Either way, you belong here.
"Anyone can step up to the mic. All we ask is that you step up with intention." β€”THEE Amy Bee
πŸŒ€ August's Optional Theme: You're Not Gonna Believe This, But...
A jumping-off point for anyone who wants one. No theme required; the most unexpected stories are often the best ones.
Your Nutshell Three:
Keith Lowell Jensen: host, wit, and the rare human who can walk into a room full of strangers and make it feel like a living room in about four minutes flat.
Amy Bee: creator, producer, co-host, and the woman who decided Sacramento needed something like this badly enough to actually build it herself.
Aaron Carnes: the emotional backbone of WILDCARD and, according to Amy Bee, an absolute treat to look at. He would like you to know he is also a published author and music journalist. We know, Aaron. We know.
πŸ“… Wednesday, August 19 | 7pm (doors at 6pm, come early to sign up!)
πŸ“ Teneral Cellars | 1050 20th St #110, Midtown Sacramento
🎟️ $15 in advance or at the door
Teneral is a beautiful wine tasting room in the heart of Midtown. Come early, get a glass, settle in. Stay after and keep talking. The night doesn't have to end when the stories do.
We are building something wonderful here in Sacramento. Come help us build it.
