What is the RPG Bookclub?

The Wildcard RPG Bookclub is just like any other bookclub with one important difference. We play a tabletop Role Playing Game during the meet-up and discuss our findings with each other at the end of our play time - just as any bookclub we dive deeper into the topic but here it will be with a focus on the game we have played.

On Wednesday October 7 we come together with the Wildcard RPG Bookclub to explore the theme of Horror as we discover the booklet Transformation. We will provide printed booklet for everyone in the club to play individually.

We start off the club with some pizza at 18:30 and we will hand-out the booklets by 19:00 for the start of your play time. After the play time we move on to discuss what we found during our adventures, what we have learned about our characters and the world we have created.

What is Transformation?

Transformation is a solo-journaling RPG. It is a Kafkaesque, horror game that lets you take on the role of an unfortunate soul becoming something they cannot yet imagine. As the game progresses, you will change, taking on both physical and mental monstrous changes. You’ll journal about the changes as you struggle to understand what’s happening and relate your understanding to those around you.

What are RPG’s?

RPG stands for Role Playing Game. It is a type of game where players take on the specific roles of characters in a fictional world. Key features of these types of games: character progression, story-driven quests and decision making.

You have RPG’s that you can play online or IRL. At the Wildcard RPG Bookclub we play IRL tabletop versions with dice, cards, a note book and the game printed in a booklet.

Who can join?

The Wildcard RPG Bookclub is for anyone who is curious to play a solo, duo or trio role playing game with different topics. We are open to anyone who would like to try out new games or games they might have never heard of before. The bookclub aims to invite you to explore worldbuilding, character building and navigation of whatever exciting thing awaits your quests.

If you have ever wanted to dive deeper into that character you've found in your favorite book, or step into your own world of fantasy, adventure or something scary. Wildcard RPG Bookclub might be the place for you to write your own story to share with others!
