Join Collin Gow, C.N.C. on the trail for a fun and informative summer mushroom and plant ID walk in the Northdale area of Tampa, FL. Saturday, July 11th, 2026 at 11:00 AM EDT. All ages welcome! 5 and under free. 6 and up, ticket required.
Collin is an author, certified nutritional consultant, and forager. He holds certifications in nutrition, advanced plant identification, wilderness first aid, herbalism, natural product science, and health applications. On this hike he will teach you how to identify many natural treasures, while also discussing their biological actions, nutritional benefits, Native American uses, and ethnomedicinal uses. You will have a whole new mycological and botanical vocabulary by the end of it!
What species are growing in your area? Which mushrooms and plants are edible and which are poisonous? Find out on this fun and educational walk! Delve into and learn about the fascinating world of funig and flora. Whether you're a chef, gardener, nutritionist, holistic practitioner, mushroom hunter, plant lover, naturalist, aspiring herbalist, re-wilder, into wildcrafting, or you just enjoy going for walks, come on out. You will learn a lot and discover a new trail. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early and carpool if possible to ensure there are enough parking spots for everyone. This class will take place rain or shine, so come prepared. We will walk a distance of about 1 mile or less.
