Wild Food Party

Always a fun time to bring together people who honor and enjoy plants! Come help process and bag desert beans and teas. You'll learn about ethnobotany of the area, medicinal and food uses of plants commonly found in yards and in the wild. After processing the wild foods inside we will have a short plant walk in the neighborhood.

Our plant walk will culminate with watching the Sphinx Moths at the Desert Willow tree. They come at every dusk to feed from the large pink flowers . The moths formed from bright yellow caterpillars that went underground and pupated into these "Tinkerbell" moths. I raised 6 of them in terrariums until they were ready to fly away.
