We will discuss the basics about Wilco Pottery Club and gather some information and ideas about how to utilize this group for our “northern” potters and studios that live and work in and around Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Hutto, Taylor and Leander areas.
Ellen Duvall-Ceramic Artist
She's an avid gardener, flora and fauna serve as the main source of inspiration for her explorations in ceramic surface design. Vibrant underglaze colors on her brush, deep iron-rich clay has become her primary canvas. The palette is reminiscent of her personal sanctuary, the garden. Her illustrations weave in personal narrative, finding parallels between the natural world and the human experience. Ellen hopes her work encourages us to pause and reflect on the small, quiet moments of beauty in the world around us, that it serves as a visual reminder of our connection to the earth and to one another. Following a 17-year career as an art educator in public schools, she now works as a full time ceramic artist in my home studio located outside Austin, Texas.
