In support of Women’s History Month, the Spencer Art Reference Library, in partnership with Art + Feminism, will host a Wiki edit-a-thon to share the stories of women-identifying artists featured in the Missouri Remembers portal. Missouri Remembers is a Spencer Art Reference Library research project created in collaboration with the Kansas City Art Institute and the St. Louis Public Library. The portal documents artists from across the state. The artist entries will be used to enhance Wikipedia by adding information, correcting submissions, and adding citations to artists’ Wiki pages, using the authoritative sources cited in Missouri Remembers. The library will partner with Art + Feminism, an international non-profit, building a community of editors committed to making Wikipedia a more accurate and less biased resource by expanding the diversity of contributors and articles they create.
