Bemz

Jubemi Iyiku AKA Bemz is one of several artists helping to establish Scotland as a bona fide hotbed for Black music, proving that rap’s cultural reach stretches way beyond London. Having first fallen in love with music through childhood influences, Bemz began experimenting with making his own sounds.

His craft is a form of therapy and self-expression, every theme explored in his recent EP, 'M4', and within the media has been in relation to situations he has experienced first-hand. Bemz’ sound is unique, his versatility is what makes him stand out as he dabbles in and out of different styles from old school hip hop to drill to grime.

After previously scoring support slots with The Snuts and being nominated for Scottish Album of the Year, his 2022 promises to be even bigger. From being selected to perform at the BBC Introducing Scottish Artist of the Year final to showcasing at Focus Wales to being a recipient of the Tennents Spotlight Fund and also about to embark on the Tenement TV Discover Tour, Bemz continues to strengthen his standing in the Scottish scene.

Swiss Portrait

Swiss Portraits DIY – Dream Pop foundations were built by Scottish born multi – instrumentalist and conceptual artist, Michael Kay Terence. He is joined live by friends: Carron (Bass), Andy (Drums) and Brett (Guitar). Living in rural Midlothian, Michael keeps a DIY approach - recording, playing, mixing and producing everything himself. Since Swiss Portraits' birth from lock down solitude, they have exploded onto the Scottish scene and are tipped for a massive 2022.

After selling out the limited edition cassette of their debut EP “Familiar Patterns” on the day of release, via Z Tapes, and playing a sold-out show at Sneaky Pete’s, they have continued to garner enthusiastic support across BBC Introducing and BBC Scotland. With their distinctive, dreamy, jangle-pop sound, Swiss Portrait promise to continue making waves.

Chef

Emerging Scottish MC, Chef, has quickly made a name for himself as he cooks up a storm in the Scottish scene. His sound is versatile, showcasing an exceptional talent for skilled lyricism, in depth story telling and impactful punchlines in both his up-tempo and slowed down beats.

Backed by Radio 1 as one of their Top Tips for 2022, Chef has found himself as one of the most prominent artists in the Scottish scene. This is highlighted by the numerous features from networks and platforms including BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Scotland’s TUNE, Link Up TV, Up2Stndrd, STV and CLASH Magazine. The track “Find A Way” from his debut EP; ‘The World Is Mine’ earned Chef “Track of the Week” on BBC 1Xtra.
