WICFF 2026: An Evening with Jennifer Hosten + Misbehaviour

The 1970 Miss World story on screen — with the woman who won it there in the room, in conversation and signing her memoir.
About this Event

Join us for a very special Evening with Jennifer Hosten, celebrating the extraordinary life and legacy of the Caribbean trailblazer who made history in 1970 as the first Black woman to be crowned Miss World.

More than a beauty queen, Jennifer Hosten has built a remarkable international career as a broadcaster, diplomat, High Commissioner, author and psychotherapist. This intimate evening will look back at her journey from Grenada to the world stage, and at the courage, grace and determination that have shaped a life of achievement, service and continual reinvention.

The evening will also feature a special screening of Misbehaviour, the acclaimed film that revisits the 1970 Miss World competition and the cultural and political moment surrounding Jennifer’s historic win.

Friday, October 31 at 7 PM
The Hub, 837 Dundas Street West, Toronto

Presented by CaribbeanTales Media Group as part of the Windrush International Caribbean Film Festival, this is a celebration of history, Caribbean excellence, and an extraordinary woman whose story continues to inspire generations.
