The Hobson Wildenthal Honors College and the Center for Asian Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas invite you to join us for the inaugural Kratz Lecture featuring Sir Venki Ramakrishnan, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry.
Lecture title: Why We Die: The New Science of Aging and The Quest for Immortality.
Venki Ramakrishnan is a structural biologist whose groundbreaking work on the structure and function of ribosomes earned the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry along with Thomas A. Streitz and Ada Yonath. For his contributions to scientific research, Ramakrishnan was knighted in 2012. And from 2015 to 2020, he served as the President of The Royal Society. In addition to his research, Ramakrishnan is the author of two books, including Why We Die: The New Science of Aging and The Quest for Immortality (2024).
