About this Event
A mantra—literally “that which protects the mind”—is a series of Sanskrit syllables that evoke the energy of a particular buddha or bodhisattva. The regular recitation of mantras is a common practice among many Buddhists. What are the power and benefits of reciting mantras?
At this talk, Amitabha Buddhist Centre's Resident Teacher, Khen Rinpoche Geshe Chonyi, will give an overview of popular mantras in Tibetan Buddhism and how each mantra works: Chenrezig, Manjushri, Tara and more. He will then explain the Medicine Buddha mantra and other aspects of the Medicine Buddha practice in detail, as a powerful method to heal and help our loved ones, friends and ourselves.
The talk will be delivered in English with opportunity for Q&A. Khen Rinpoche is adept at teaching in a clear and powerful way that is suitable for an audience of all levels, from beginners to those with knowledge of Buddhism. Please invite your friends and family members to come along!
