Why Oaks Matter

Oaks are key to forest health and resilience. Oak ecosystems are important throughout Eastern North America and support an extraordinary range of insects, birds, and other wildlife. Join Dr. Jacqueline Courteau of NatureWrite LLC and Mike Kost of Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum and the U-M School for Environment and Sustainability to explore the importance of oaks in Michigan, the ecosystems they support, and why their stewardship matters in a changing climate.
