Georgia’s next generation of civic leaders is already stepping up — in elected office, political affairs, public-interest law, academia, campaigns, and political organizing.

But what does it actually take to enter public life today?

Join The Kenneth Lockett Foundation, the Center for Civic Reasoning, and the Emory Department of Political Science for Who Leads Next?, a conversation about the state of Gen Z civic leadership in Georgia: where young leaders are making progress, what barriers stand in their way, and what building a career in the public interest can actually look like.

Bringing together perspectives from across Georgia’s civic landscape, the discussion will explore questions including:

• Where is Gen Z already exercising civic and political leadership?
• What keeps more young people from pursuing public-interest careers?
• What does a sustainable career in politics, policy, advocacy, law, or public service look like?
• How can institutions better identify, develop, and support the next generation of civic leaders?

The conversation will be followed by an opportunity for audience Q&A.
