Who Is Jesus?

This course is open to anyone who would like to spend some time learning and reflecting on who Jesus was and is, and how we can understand him today. Course participants are asked to have access to a copy of the book Freeing Jesus by Diana Butler Bass and to a Bible. No previous theological education is required. This is an excellent course for individuals or for groups to join; groups from churches or groups of friends are encouraged to sign up together!

About the Instructor

The Rev. Dr. Heather McCance holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), University of Waterloo, a Master of Divinity (M.Div) and Master of Theology (Th.M), Trinity College, University of Toronto, and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min), Tyndale University. Dr. McCance has also served as the Director of Field Education and of Pastoral Studies at the Diocese of Montreal and has over twenty years in parish ministry where she has developed deep intercultural experiences. She currently serves as the President of Atlantic School of Theology.

Dates & Times: Six 90-minute sessions on Tuesday evenings, 7:30pm - 9:00pm (Atlantic Time), September 17 - October 22, 2024.

Fee: $70.00 plus Eventbrite fee

Format: Online via Zoom

Please note: This Continuing Education program is non-credit, meaning it cannot be counted toward a degree or diploma, and will not be transcripted. Continuing Education registrations are refundable until 48 hours before a program commences, minus the Eventbrite processing fee. After that time, fees are non-refundable.
