Who are We Becoming? – With Village Playback Theatre (Free)

A team of skilled actors and musicians creates a space where audiences are invited to share stories of who they have become—and who they are becoming—in response to the world around them. The performers play their story back with sensitivity, insight, and artistry to create meaningful and memorable theater.

Village Playback Theatre engages diverse audiences by creating space for them to become an integral part of the storytelling and performance process. For 25 years, we have performed and led workshops for people throughout metro New York, in various U.S. states, and abroad. Our clients include universities, non-profits, hospitals, prisons, homeless shelters, and traditional theatres. We’ve worked with city agencies such as NYC Administration for Children’s Services and global organizations such as the United Nations. Recently, we performed an all-Spanish show for immigrants in New Jersey, some of whom have been held in ICE Detention centers or have families currently being detained.
