About this Event
A Stand Up To Racism meeting to discuss.
Who are the new far right?
How can we stop them growing and gaining support in our communities, our workplaces and our campuses?
The government’s scapegoating rhetoric against refugees, migrants and the Muslim community – and its ‘war on woke’ – is giving confidence to a new far right in Britain.
Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s rhetoric about Britain being ‘invaded’ was so inflammatory she was called out by Holocaust survivors – while her statements on child grooming and the Pakistani Muslim community were so extreme that fascist Tommy Robinson’s name trended on Twitter in connection to her outburst.
Week after week fascist groups like Patriotic Alternative and Britain First are targeting accommodation housing refugees while other far right groups like Students Against Tyranny and Turning Point UK are protesting against other ‘woke targets’ such as the LGBT+ community.
What are their links to previous generations of fascist organisations like the National Front, British National Party and English Defence Leagues?
And, most importantly, how can we stop them growing and gaining support in our communities, our workplaces and our campuses?
Where is it happening?
