Whites Creek Water Reclamation Facility Tour: May 2025

Join us for a 1 hour walking tour of the Whites Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and see how Metro Water Services reclaims water contaminated by residential and commercial sewage, cleans it, and returns it to the river. During the walking tour of the treatment plant, you will learn about wastewater treatment processes and what Metro Water Services is doing to stay ahead of the curve as Nashville grows. Please note:

Registration is REQUIRED.

Tours are for adults, 16+ years and older. Please contact the organizer to schedule a tour for school-aged children.

Tours are rain or shine.

For security reasons, we DO NOT permit photos inside of the facility gates or on the tour at any time.

Cell phones and bags must remain in personal vehicles during the tour.

For safety reasons, we require you to wear closed, flat shoes on the tour.

FAQs

What time do I need to arrive for the tour?

You will need to check in with the security guard at the main gate no later than 10 minutes before the start time of the tour. Due to the tight schedule, we cannot allow anyone to join the tour late.

What are the driving directions to the facility?

Whites Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is located at 1360 County Hospital Road, Nashville, TN 37218.

What are my parking options?

Parking is available in a secure lot at the facility.

What is the distance of the walking tour? How many stairs will I need to climb?

The walking tour is a little over 1/3 of a mile long. The walking tour includes stairs and crossing gratings. If you need accommodations, please contact [email protected]

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Please bring your printed ticket or have your ticket available on your phone to show the security guard.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Registration is not transferrable. The name on the registration much match the photo ID of the person attending the tour.
