ABOUT WHISKEY MOUNTAIN AND ‘IT FELT LIKE FUN’:
Whiskey Mountain, an alt-punk four-piece hailing from the heart of Nampa, Idaho, was founded in 2022 during a COVID-inspired midlife crisis by Randy King. The band represents a passionate rebellion against the aging process. Driven by the old punk mantra “Here are three chords, now start a band,” Whiskey Mountain is all about spreading love and connection while rocking out.
"It Felt Like Fun" is the debut album from Whiskey Mountain. The pre-release single "Fragile Ego" is available now on all platforms. The cover art is a picture of the band’s original drummer Nate Lindskoog, who lost his right leg in a fight with bone cancer. The album title comes from a lyric in their song "Shiver" and represents a mantra for the band: If making music together isn't fun, then we need to stop making music!
Growing up in the thriving metropolis of Greenleaf, Idaho, singer and guitarist Randy King knows that hard work can overcome a lack of talent and he's living proof of it. A veteran of the early 00s punk scene in Boise, Randy took a couple of decades off to raise a family and pursue a career as an educator and chef. Yet, his inner nerd never wavered, infusing his songs with the wisdom of philosophy, a love of reading, some Dungeons and Dragons references and the gritty realities of adulthood.
Whiskey Mountain's name is a tribute to Randy‘s favorite place on Earth, Whiskey Mountain in the Owyhee Mountains. Their music defies easy categorization, but they lovingly refer to their genre description as “Sagebrush Punk" (a term they hope catches on, but has not yet...).
Join Whiskey Mountain on their journey as they rock hard, age ungracefully and prove that rock ‘n’ roll knows no limit. Whiskey Mountain is here to stay, and they're ready to take you on a dusty ride through the rugged terrain of Sagebrush Punk.
