Join us for Where the Water Goes: A Barre Stormwater Walk starting in Currier Park at 5:30 PM on Monday, June 22.
This will include an interactive walk through the city to explore how water moves across streets, sidewalks, lawns, parking lots, and into storm drains before reaching our local waterways.
Along the way, we’ll look closely at how water shapes our landscape, how stormwater picks up pollutants like road salt and pet waste, and why this matters for the health of streams like the Stevens Branch.
The walk will also highlight local water quality monitoring, stormwater planning, infrastructure improvements, and simple actions residents can take to help reduce pollution and support cleaner, healthier waterways in Barre.
The walk is on mostly flat ground via sidewalk and paved city roads. The walk will be around 1.5 miles total. Everyone is encouraged and welcome to participate. Snacks and water will be provided.
