Renovation strategies to stay in the home you love
About this Event
At some point, many homeowners hit the same realization.
The kids are sharing rooms longer than planned.
A parent needs to move in, but the layout doesn’t support it.
The stairs feel harder.
The bathroom feels tight or unsafe.
Daily routines feel more stressful than they should.
You love your home.
You love your neighborhood.
But the way your house is laid out no longer works for your life.
This event is for homeowners asking the real question:
Do we move, or do we renovate what isn’t working?
Join us for a relaxed, construction-focused evening where we talk through real renovation strategies that help growing families and aging parents stay in the homes they love, updated for their current stage of life.
This is not about trends or cosmetic upgrades.
It’s about floor plans, safety, function, and long-term planning.
REAL MDT PROJECT EXAMPLES
How we transformed existing homes to support real life needs
PROJECT 1: FAMILY CENTERED KITCHEN & LIVING SPACE (BLACK CABINET KITCHEN)
This family spent most of their time in this space, but the original layout did not support their daily routine.
We redesigned the kitchen to include family seating, a built in coffee and tea station, and a more efficient appliance layout. The connected living area was updated with a warm fireplace and built in storage for media and game consoles, making the space feel more organized, comfortable, and welcoming.
The result was a kitchen and living space designed around family routines, gathering, and everyday comfort, not just looks.
PROJECT 2: ENTERTAINING FOCUSED KITCHEN (WOOD KITCHEN)
This family loves to cook and entertain, but the original kitchen felt closed off and limited by a wall and a window.
We removed both the wall and the window to open up the space and expand cabinetry. This allowed us to create a large peninsula with more prep space, seating, and better flow for hosting. Storage was added on both sides with pullouts for large pots and cooking tools. The island also includes a built in ice maker and beverage refrigerator to support entertaining.
In addition to function, we focused on style. Intricate porcelain countertops add depth and movement, paired with ZLINE Autograph Series appliances, coordinated cabinet hardware, and a concealed plaster range hood for a clean, finished look.
The result was a kitchen that supports cooking, gathering, and entertaining while still feeling elevated and intentional.
WHY THIS MATTERS
These projects show how the same home can be reimagined to better support each family’s lifestyle through thoughtful renovation, smart layout changes, and intentional design.
These are the types of real world strategies we’ll discuss during the event.
