A spoken word event in honour of World Suicide Prevention Day.
About this Event

When We Speak is a spoken word and conversation event exploring suicide prevention and the ways we can support one another.

Featuring a special spoken word performance from Myndstate, the event will bring together community voices, prominent speakers and our Mental Health Ambassador to open up honest conversations around suicide, mental health and LGBTQ+ experiences. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and join the discussion through a live Q&A.

Suicide prevention is a community issue, and we can all make a difference. Our role as friends, partners, chosen family, volunteers and community members isn't to “fix” someone. It's to notice when something might be wrong, ask, listen, stay present and help someone connect with support.

When We Speak is about creating space to listen, learn and connect - reminding each other that no one has to face difficult moments alone.

Trigger warning: This event may be challenging – especially if you're a suicide survivor or have been affected by suicide.
