Did you know that Swing dancers and Jazz musicians were not only persecuted by Communists but also by the Nazi Regime? There are interesting differences in the persecution policy between the German Swing Youth, the Czech Potápky and the Polish Jazz and Swing scene.
🎓 Learn more about it during our discussion on the 13th of November or during our project presentation on the 15th of November.
💃🏽 Follow the footsteps of the Potapky during the first historical Swing walk through Prague on the 16th of November.
📽️Dive into the life of the German Swing Youth when we present the film “Swing Kids”. There are several dance parties waiting for you!
✌🏻 On the 17th of November we want to dance our “liberation dance” on Korzo Národní with you! This choreography will connect the Nazi past with the present to struggle for a democratic and free future.
The project „NS-Injustice ‚Degenerated Music’. Persecuted Swing dancers and Jazzmusicians in Northwestern Germany, Czech Republic and Poland” participates at the festivities on the occasion of 35 Years of the Velvet Revolution.
