WHY SUPPORT THIS COMMUNITY PROJECT:
* Support local Fil-Am restaurants and other food businesses, promoting Filipino cuisine.
* Support and help the different Filipino American organizations in the State of Oregon.
* Showcase the Fil-Am Center building and its updated equipment.
* Start of a Building/ Infrastructure fund for the Fil-Am Center, the only building in Oregon owned by a Filipino American association, for a 5-year transition plan to a bigger, more suitable location.
* FAAPVI is undergoing a rebranding with a new 5-year strategic plan, and this is one of our first big projects of the year.
* To support FAAPVI mission and vision by sustaining Filipino creativity in film, presenting stories that convey richness and diversity of Fil-Am experiences/ movies. It will provide an engaging program that primarily raise cultural awareness, support Filipino artists – cultural icons like Vilma Santos, and promote community connections.
WHAT’S DIFFERENT:
* For the Portland Metro leg of the event which starts April 5 to April 20, there will be a two (2) week Filipino Food Fest, where featured Filipino food vendors will sell ‘meriendas’ (Filipino hors d’oeuvres and desserts) during each showing of the film at the Fil-Am Center. April is Filipino Food Month.
* Participating Filipino restaurants and other food establishments will offer a “special” at their business location, which can be an entrée or a dessert, named after the movie icons/ characters of the film.
* We have invited other Fil-Am groups in Central and South of Oregon to collaborate with us to show the film at their cities and do the same Filipino Food Fest. FAAPVI is subsidizing most of the cost of the rights to show this international Filipino film in cities in Central and South Oregon, and letting each of those organizations keep all the profit raised for the movie showings in their respective cities, as part of FAAPVI’s commitment to support these organizations.
* There will be 5 movie showings at the Fil-Am building located in Portland (the building can handle 180 people each day)
* It will be a great movie experience as the Fil-Am Center will have updated sound system and equipment, as there are plans to do more of these kinds of projects in the future.
ABOUT THE FILM: (This movie has subtitles)

He promised himself never to love again but things changed when he met Azon, who is also an OFW and a permanent resident in Japan who will make him believe to give love another shot, only to discover after only few years of a happy blissful marriage that Azon is dealing with an age-related debilitating disease that will surely break Joey's heart once more.
