In this session, Reforge partner Casey Winters will share advice on how to expand beyond your first product. He will cover the critical factors that influence the success of second products, sharing insights on how to effectively identify opportunities for expansion and avoid common pitfalls. Casey will illustrate the types of second products that can complement and enhance your existing offerings. He will discuss how to align new product development with your company's overall strategy and customer needs.

Casey will explain how to map out a successful product vision, including defining key milestones and assumptions that need validation. He will discuss how to interpret product/market fit beyond the traditional startup metrics, emphasizing the importance of impacting overall company growth rather than just achieving success with a small customer segment. The session will cover practical frameworks and real-world examples.

After Casey's talk, he will answer questions from the audience.

Casey Winters is an experienced operator and advisor helping companies scale. Casey led demand side growth at Grubhub from series A to IPO, led the growth product team at Pinterest from 40 mil to 150 mil MAU, and then worked as Chief Product Officer at Eventbrite during the pandemic. In each of these roles, Casey led major expansion efforts that led to growth (driving Grubhub from 3 cities to 1,000+), user behavior optimization (including increasing sign-up conversion 5x and doubling activation rate at Pinterest), and pivots (refocusing Evenbrite’s strategy to outlast the pandemic difficulties and become cash flow positive).

Today, Casey works as a strategic advisor for tech startups, and has worked with companies such as Airbnb, Canva, Faire, Whatnot, reddit, Tinder as well as the venture firm Greylock Partners.
