About this Event
Wheel Throwing for All Levels
Tuesdays, February 3, 10, 17, and 24
5:30 PM to 8:30 PM
This four-week wheel throwing class is designed for both enthusiastic beginners and experienced makers looking to refine their skills. Whether you are stepping up to the wheel for the first time or returning to deepen your practice, this class offers a supportive, hands-on environment to explore the full ceramics process.
Over the course of four weekly sessions, students will learn how to center clay, throw basic forms, and build confidence on the wheel. As skills develop, participants will work on throwing taller and thinner vessels, exploring new shapes, and increasing the amount of clay they can comfortably handle. Instruction also includes attaching handles, pulling handles directly from the side of a cup, and refining functional forms.
While the class focuses primarily on tableware such as mugs, cups, bowls, and plates, students are encouraged to explore their own ideas and personal approaches to working with clay. Each session includes demonstrations, guided practice, and individualized feedback to support growth at every level.
This is a structured, multi-week class that meets once per week for four weeks. The cumulative format allows students time to practice, troubleshoot, and build skills progressively rather than in a single workshop setting.
All clay, tools, and materials are provided as part of the class.
