Whau Arts Festival - Raranga Wānanga with Ahi Nyx

Through hands-on learning and traditional weaving practices, discover the connections between people, materials and the environment.

Ahi Nyx is a Māori artist, kai raranga and founder of Ahi Raranga Tapui Ltd. Her mahi connects people with harakeke, raranga and the natural environment through hands-on learning.

Her wānanga focus on caring for and harvesting materials, preparing what we gather, and weaving with those materials to create something meaningful. Her approach is grounded in tikanga, environmental care, connection and learning through doing.

Ahi will be running a two day wānanaga as a part of the festival.
