About this Event

Ever find yourself stumped in the middle of an improv scene, not knowing the next move or what you can build off? This workshop focuses on identifying the important aspects of a scene while highlighting more specific tools to keep in your back pocket. Through a series of exercises and scene work we will set you up for success refining our platform, character POV, an environment building skills.

Date: Saturday October 5, 4:00PM - 6:30PM

Location: The Jim Green House Studio at The Cultch (1885 Venables Street). Please note the entrance to the venue is at the back of the Green House, accessed via a gravel path.

14 spots available. Open to improvisers of all skill levels, 19+.

Prerequisite: Intro to Improv or equivalent required.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

Tyra Banda is a queer black artist based in Toronto, Ontario. She got her first taste of theatre when she pursued a BA in drama at the University of Alberta. While in Edmonton she was part of Rapid Fire Theatre, as well as multiple Edmonton Fringe shows (Chuckle Ruckus, Big Stupid Improv Show, Theatresports). Tyra moved to Toronto in 2019 for a degree in Comedy Writing and Performance from Humber College, where they recently taught at. She has performed as a cast member of Second City's "Improv All Stars", is a seventh of Toronto's most well behaved improv troupe, "LIttle Miss Normal", and can be often caught on stage performing with Bad Dog Theatre, and off stage teaching their classes!
