October 4: Unmask The Stash: The Secret World of Discreet Drug Trends

This interactive presentation will explore current drug and alcohol trends our young people are facing on a daily basis. From accessibility to the dangers of different products, the presenters, Catherine Barden and Cristal DePietro from Culture of Change, will walk participants through current teen culture. This engaging presentation is designed to educate adults about everything from hashtags to pressed pills in a way that will open your eyes to the secret world our kids are living in.

Learn about:

  • Current trends of substances use
  • The ease of creating products
  • The breadth of accessibility
  • TikTok and the havoc it is causing
  • Tips on how to talk with your kids about what you've learned

Learn what you need to know about distributing Narcan to someone who is overdosing, the good samaritan law and more!

October 18: Decoding Gen Z (#influencer: How social media is shaping Gen Z)


From free advertising to third party sales social media is riddled with dangerous trends and videos glamourizing substance use and risky trends that our young people are witnessing and becoming desensitized to on a daily basis. This workshop will explore social media's influence on our youngest generation, and show what our kids are really seeing on their feeds.


In this presentation participants will learn about:

  • Current trends on social media and how they influence Gen Z
  • How social media impacts youth mental health
  • How social media glamorizes substance use and creates viral trends
  • How social media impacts access to drugs, alcohol and paraphernalia
  • Tips on how to talk with your kids about online behavior and breaking down the information they are consuming online

October 26: Fentanyl: Fueling the Crisis


Fentanyl: Fueling the Crisis is an engaging look into how this synthetic drug is impacting the overdose epidemic in our state, country, and across the globe.


This presentation will cover what you need to know about fentanyl and synthetic opioids from the dangers to the availability.


Participants will:


  • Sort fentanyl myths from facts
  • Learn the current trends around fentanyl and pressed pills
  • How to spot signs that someone is using and overdosing
  • Learn how to talk to your kids about the dangers of fentanyl
