About this Event
Join Kristen Buras, author of What We Stand to Lose, along with a panel of veteran educators as they explores the historical and cultural contributions of New Orleans' Black teachers. Through oral history storytelling, teacher biographies, visual artifacts, school archives, and alumni testimony, they honor this legacy. Ultimately, they reveal a longstanding tradition of intergenerational care and community-building that fostered Black excellence and explore its relevance to the education of youth today.
Free and open to the public; donations gratefully accepted. Donations support One Book One New Orleans' year-round work.
