What We Carry | Aura Network's Summer Networking Event with Gordons
About this Event
To mark South Asian Heritage Month, Aura is proud to launch What We Carry, a new digital storytelling library celebrating the experiences, journeys and achievements of South Asian women across the legal profession.
At the heart of the project is a simple idea: behind every legal career is a story. A story of family, heritage, ambition, resilience, identity and belonging. Whether it is a photograph, a book, a piece of jewellery, a letter or another meaningful item, these objects offer a unique window into the experiences, values and people that have influenced their paths and continue to shape who they are today.
Launch of What We Carry
What We Carry is a long-term digital storytelling initiative that will capture and preserve the stories of South Asian women across the legal profession. Through interviews and personal reflections, the project will create a growing digital library celebrating the voices, experiences and achievements of South Asian women in law for future generations.
This event marks the official launch of the project.
In Conversation with Sarah Khan-Bashir MBE
Join us for a special conversation with Sarah Khan-Bashir MBE, founder of Aura, as she reflects on her own journey, the inspiration behind What We Carry and why preserving these stories matters.
Guests will have the opportunity to shape the discussion by submitting questions in advance and during the event.
Be Part of the Story
As part of the launch, attendees will have the opportunity to contribute to the What We Carry collection by recording a short voluntary interview sharing their own experiences, reflections and career journey.
A videographer will be on site throughout the networking reception. Participation is entirely optional, and contributors will become part of a growing archive that will continue to develop long-term.
Whether you are a student, trainee, in-house lawyer, private practice solicitor, barrister or legal leader, we welcome you to join us for an evening of meaningful conversation, new connections and shared reflection.
