About this Event

There are nearly 1,400 known varieties of wine grapes in the world—from altesse to zierfandler—but 80 percent of the wine we drink is made from only 20 grapes. Many wine scholars, our Wine Director Erin Dudley included, would argue that erasing the hundreds of native grape varieties also erases centuries of important traditions that add unique complexities to the wine world and allow consumers to learn about diverse cultures through a glass of wine. Let's support these communities and traditions by enjoying some of their delicious native grapes!

Join us for a casual seated wine class with Erin Dudley, where we will discuss the history of native grape varieties while sipping six of our favorite indigenous wines at Planet Wine!

Included with your ticket:

  • Seated wine class with with Wine Director, Erin Dudley, CSW
  • Tasting of six fine wines
  • Small serving of artisanal cheese to accompany your tasting
  • Discounts on bottle purchases of all wines tasted
