Stories We Have Inherited – An Inquiry into Decolonising Ourselves

This is an invitation to enquire what history has left within us. Together we will explore the ways in which we hold inheritance in our bodies, our thoughts, our relationships and our sense of belonging. Through systemic constellations we will learn to recognise the patterns and the wisdom that has remained beneath them.
This work is open to everyone.
Whatever your culture, ancestry or lived experience, we all arrive from the stories that began long before we were born. Some have given us strength. Some were necessary for survival. Some no longer serve the life we are trying to live.
Together we will uncover what it means to inherit narratives, to understand ourselves and one another with greater openness, and to remember our belonging before the stories we were given.
"The privilege of this work has been to witness both the humbling and the hopeful. I have seen that within every language, every belief, and every history lies the same desire; to belong, to be seen, to be heard, to love and be loved, to know where we come from, to know where we are going, to know who we are, and to leave something better for those who follow.
An elder once said that a forest is not made by the trees we see. It is made by the roots that lie beneath, connecting and nourishing one another. People are like this. We arrive in a fully grown forest that holds the essence of all that came before. Our stories began far in the past. We inherit songs, fears, loyalties, ways of loving, privilege, grief, cultural isolation, systemic suppression, ways of protecting, ways of living and ways of dying. Some of these are gifts, some are means of survival born from necessity, and many were born from other ways of being.
I have come to think less of history as something done in the past, and more as something that still breathes and moves through my words, my actions, and my sense of worth."
