About this Event
Join us across South Ayrshire for a series of workshops and talks led by Tommy Whitelaw. As a former carer himself, Tommy will bring valuable insights and experiences to the table.
Tommy will reflect on his experience caring for his mum, Joan, who lived with dementia - highlighting the importance of kindness and person-centred care, ensuring inclusive support is available to everyone and improving how we support one another.
Tommy encourages reflection on what is working well in health and social care and what areas could be improved. The What Matters to You Workshop aims to drive improvement and empowerment for individuals, carers, and families.
What the session offers:
- Time and space to consider what genuinely matters to you.
- A supportive setting to share experiences and insights.
- A meaningful, community‑focused conversation.
- Light refreshments and moments of connection.
- Optional interactive activities to help us explore what matters in a different way.
Each session will last 1.5 hours at various venues in South Ayrshire and is free of charge. Booking in advance is recommended due to the limited spaces at certain venues.
