What is YOUR Personal Mandala? Workshop/Art Class

Come join us at Aurathentic for a creative and introspective event where you'll discover your personal mandala!

Our natural need as humans is to create order and meaning in our lives. Our brains work constantly to organize experiences to organize it into a coherent “story” that helps us makes sense on what we are doing and how we are feeling.

In a way, the mandala helps us to do symbolically, what our body does physically. Mandalas are circular designs in which people organize symbols to create meaningful order.

Some mandalas represent universal or spiritual order. Others explore a person’s personal life. You will do this project on a personal level. You will generate symbols that represent various aspects of your life and then rearrange them, so they are unified and meaningful.

Creating a personal mandala can be a simple and enjoyable art project. It can help you relax, think and gain perspective on what is happening in your life. However, if you put more thought and effort into it, the mandala can become a deeper exploration of who you are and how your life is unfolding. It can tell you things about yourself that you didn’t know you knew.

This five-hour class is broken down into two parts. The first part is instruction and exercises, there is a 30-minute break and then the second part is to convert the material developed in section one into an artistic expression of your personal mandala.

You don’t need to be an artist to find deep value in this class. Our spiritual, artistic and hands-on instructor will ensure that everyone leaves with an understanding of the concepts and a piece of art that represents the best expression of themselves and journey.

Your Instructor: Parker is a local artist, musician, author, and philosopher from Manitou Springs. A lover of laughter and joy, he attempts to circulate both of these far and wide at every opportunity. He is very grateful to have recently received his Reiki Master attunements and is currently working towards his certification in sound healing. You can often encounter Parker out in Nature, finding his center through cultivating Mindfulness. .and Loving Kindness. A former US Marine, Parker also worked for a decade behind the scenes of Colorado’s live music industry…now he spends as much time as he can with his marvelous and magical wife and partner, Jenny, and their two wonderful feline children, Vera and Snokomo
