AAUW and LAVOW Theatre Company Celebrate International Women’s Day with a High Tea Theatre Production (tickets not available at the door)
About this Event

In celebration of International Women’s Day, The American Association of Women (AAUW) and Louisiana Voices of Women Theatre Company (LAVOW) will present a High Tea Theatre production akin to a Dinner Theatre production on Sunday, March 12 at 2 pm at the Lake House Reception Center in Baton Rouge.

The play “What Is a Woman and What Rights do American Women Really Have”? by Aileen Hendricks is set in heaven with a panel of six, lovable, smart, funny and angelic women.

Because she is both a goddess and a saint, Beautiful, Brilliant Brigid moderates the panel and invites everyone to Celebrate. Two men impersonated by two of the women round out the cast. All the characters have their own answers to the questions posed in the title. But they all agree that women deserve to be celebrated and are not always what they seem to be. Darling, Doofus Daisy is not a doofus for instance.

This comic-drama invites the audience to relax, imagine, laugh, play and explore who they are in an everchanging world that moves at the accelerated rate of future shock. Everyone is in heaven and like the characters free to answer the questions the way they choose.

NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.
