About this Event

What in The World brings together 7 artists, collectively searching for meaning in a mysterious world that is filled with the unknown. Their artworks approach this far-reaching concept (and the questions that follow) through the mediums of sculpture, painting, photography, installation, and performance -- sometimes all at once.

This concept of the search brings us back to the basics of design, form, color, and sound; through this, new ways of being in the world are imagined. The artists embrace this exploration of the new, showing us possibilities of being that embrace simplicity and unconventional functionality.

As viewers, we might not immediately understand what the artists are allowing us to see, but through their deft approaches and deceptively simple, organic compositions, which make use of recognizable materials like wood, string, and found objects, we're allowed entry into their visions.

Artists : Jimin Baek, Jake Berstein, Elaine Chen , Lara Lee, Sarah Martin-Nuss, Lena Smart and Suzanne Watters.

Curators: Nic Anselmo, Victoria Arthur, Noormah Jamal, Rebecca Wu and Olivia Zabludowicz.

Media/Admin: Loujain Alzahrani, Yoorim Kim and Ruoyu Tang.
