What Does it All Mean, What Does Any of This Mean? Why? How? Help! A Comedy Show #6
In the PRS Lecture Room!
Welcome back to PRS’s latest installment of a comedy talk show here to cure your existential dread, following our very successful first and second editions this past December and February! The stand up comedian is known to be the deepest observer. More introspective than Descartes, more earth-shattering than Socrates, more insightful than Nietzsche. The comedian was the first to ask, "What is the deal?" Well, now we get to the bottom of just that. Join host Alison Stevenson as she forces her comedian friends to solve life's biggest unsolvable problems. You will laugh, you will cry, you will think. But most importantly, you will laugh.

Charles Gould is a stand-up comedian that lives in Los Angeles, home of the wildfire. If he looks familiar, Charles promises he's not whatever Jew you went to high school with. Hopefully you recognize him because he was a 2017 "New Face of Comedy" at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, Canada, and was named a "Comic To Watch" by Comedy Central in 2015. On the silver screen, he has appeared on the TBS show "Search Party" (as a weirdo), "The Big Sick" (as a weirdo), NBC's "Law And Order" (as a nerd) and Comedy Central's "Cinema Social Club" (as himself, a weirdo nerd). If you're the best looking person in your family or group of friends, you won't find him funny.
Sam Oh is a writer and comedian from Los Angeles (well technically The Valley which like, totally counts!) An alum of the WarnerMedia Access Writers Program and NBC's Late Night Writers Workshop, you can see him in the upcoming Greg Daniels mockumentary series.
As a queer child of Korean Christian immigrants, Oh had no choice but to develop a sense of humor. He got his start as a teenager doing open-mics all over LA and taking sketch and improv at UCB, later writing on Maude Night. His scripts have placed in numerous industry competitions, including the Top 50 of the Academy Nicholl Fellowship. He’s performed at SF Sketchfest, Union Hall NY, The Elysian Theater and hosts the musical comedy revue, “Adler & Oh.” He currently stars in E.L.F Cosmetics’s latest skincare campaign opposite Meg Stalter.
Meaghan Strickland is a comedian in LA, formerly of NYC and Chicago. She is the host of Funny Games (along with Jo Scott and Kate O'Connor) at The Elysian Theater and recently appeared as Millie n 3 Rats: The Musical, a show she helped co-create, also at The Elysian Theater. In NYC, Meaghan was the host of A Late Night Show that Is Also Live at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective as well as the host of The Highlights Comedy Show at YourHairsBestFriend (a comedy show in hair salon!). In Chicago, Meaghan was on the weekend Harold Team Smokin' Hot Dad at the iO Theater and she was a cast member of Holy Fuck Comedy Hour at The Annoyance Theater. She has performed standup at Caroline's Comedy Club, Laugh Factory, Zanies Comedy Club and Union Hall (to name exactly four places).
Host, Alison Stevenson is a comedian and writer based in Los Angeles. Her debut TV appearance occurred on the Viceland stand-up series, “Flop House”. Alison was also a “perfect woman” on the Adult Swim Streaming comedy series, “The Perfect Women”, which now exists on Youtube. On top of stand-up she is a writer, most known as a VICE columnist wherein she wrote many viral articles for several years. She’s also written for Huffington Post, Glamour, The Guardian, MAD Magazine, and more. She currently has a substack you can subscribe to. In October 2020 Audible released her original scripted podcast, “Like Mother”. Written by Alison, it is a semi-autobiographical, mother-daughter comedy starring her and Susie Essman of "Curb Your Enthusiasm".
