About this Event

What does Critical Hope feel like?

In the afternoon of day one of Creativity and Wellbeing Week we continue to explore our theme of Critical Hope for Acute Times with an original event curated by the Advocates for Representation in Creative Health. This year's theme acknowledges the increasing precarity in the health and care sectors including the impending NHS redundancies, ongoing instability in funding for Creative Health and the rising pressures linked to planetary health and climate change. Hear from cutting edge speakers, network and re-energise at this free event.

Read more about our festival theme, Critical Hope .

Advocates for Representation in Creative Health (ARCH) was formed in 2024 to bring together creative health leaders in London who have experienced racism AND who identify as black, brown, Asian, or who have mixed heritage backgrounds.

ARCH exists to:

  • Support to increase the diversity of creative health practitioners working in London and;
  • Support and increase awareness of and engagement with creative health opportunities amongst London’s diverse communities.

Join us at the National Theatre, London for an inspiring afternoon exploring these themes. We hope this event will gather the sector in a space of critical hope, reconnecting practitioners with their passion and inviting visions for the future of Creative Health. You can expect exciting panel discussions, Q&A, artistic activity and networking.

Agenda:

Tola Dabiri in conversation with Patrick Vernon;

Tola and Patrick will then be joined by a wider panel exploring these themes including:

  • Chair: Jemilea Wisdom-Baako;
  • Artist Represent Recovery Network Artist, Maz Koshika-Morris;
  • Wandsworth Borough of Culture, Culturally Mindful Artist Francis Augusto;
  • Legislative Theatre and Creative Health practitioner Tony Cealy.

Artist Selene Heath will close the event with a reflective and creative eco-based Creative Health activity.

This event is free to attend.
