About this Event
What are you thinking? Cognition and performance in endurance sport - Dr Amy Whitehead, Reader in Sport Psychology and Coaching, and Sport and Exercise Psychologist.
Our thoughts can have a huge impact on how we prepare, execute and enjoy (or not) our performance. But how often do you stop to consider what you are thinking and why? In this seminar Dr Amy Whitehead will share some of her research over the last 15 years where she has captured athletes thoughts as they perform to understand how thinking impacts on performance, and perceptions of performance. This work spans from endurance sport such as cycling and running, to golf and goal keeping, and recently Amy has been applying this work to medical education. This work has led to the development of educational interventions that can support reflection and decision making. So whether you are a keen endurance athlete, or just want to learn about some cool psychology work happening at LJMU this webinar is for you.
