What does it mean to be intersex? Learn what intersex is, isn't or might be by a local parent of an intersex child.
Sex assignment at birth usually aligns with a child's anatomical sex and genetic traits, but what happens when a child's chromosomal sex is inconsistent with typical characteristics or ambiguous?
As a parent of an intersex child, Las Vegas resident Kelli Carlson will share her personal journey of study and research on what it is to be intersex, her experiences taking care of the physical and mental well-being of one who is intersex, describe relationship and identity challenges of intersex persons, and provide helpful unbiased information on resources for intersex persons and parents.
