About the Speaker

Mike is well-known to Indian birdwatchers, having spent 17 years living and birding in India, where he was active in the early days of the Delhi Bird Group and later helped promote eBird and citizen science through Bird Count India. His passion is introducing people to the incredible diversity of India’s wildlife and encouraging participation in bird recording. Now based back in the UK, he works for Natural England, the organisation responsible for advising the government about the environment, and is a volunteer with the RSPB and BTO - the premier bird-related NGOs. However, he still grabs every opportunity to return to India, planning and leading tours with Asian Adventures to some of the country’s most celebrated birding locations.
